Jeg har inviteret Steffen Westmark på besøg. Du kender ham måske fra The Blue Van og Pepperment B. Og så er han glødende Portishead-fan. Det er jeg også! Derfor var det med store ærefrygt og med fare for at ødelægge de gode minder, at vi sammen gik om bord i deres album “Roseland NYC Live”, som er Portishead helt ud over kanten af skrøbelighed med stort symfoniorkester. I midten af det hele har vi Beth Gibbons, som messer sig igennem det hele og suger os ind i mørket og det uhyggelige univers, som de sammen skaber. Og det er netop dette mørke, som er så dragende ved Portishead, der på en eller anden måde står tilbage som skaberne af genren “Trip Hop”.
